Per-resolution pricing

Definition

Per-resolution pricing is a billing model where you pay only for support conversations the AI agent fully resolves, rather than per seat, per reply, or per conversation touched.

Under per-resolution pricing the meter runs only when a ticket is actually finished by the AI - resolved, not merely responded to. Escalations, clarifying questions, and abandoned conversations do not bill, which aligns the vendor’s revenue with your outcome.

The fine print is where models diverge: some vendors bill any bot reply as a "resolution", some stack per-resolution fees on top of mandatory seats, and some double-bill by charging both a platform fee and usage. Read the definition of "resolution" before comparing prices.

Why it matters

Support costs should scale with work removed, not with team size. Seat pricing punishes you for keeping humans in the loop; reply pricing pays vendors for noise. Resolution pricing is the only model where the invoice tracks the value.

How Resolvo HQ approaches it

Resolvo HQ bills per billable resolution with plan allowances, prepaid credit top-ups, and transparent overage - no seat fees, and escalations are never billed. Plans land at roughly a third of the cheapest per-resolution rival and about half of Intercom Fin’s $0.99 per resolution.

Frequently asked

What counts as a billable resolution?+

It should be a conversation the AI completed end to end: grounded answer accepted or action executed, no human takeover. In Resolvo HQ, escalations, clarifying exchanges, spam, and sandbox replays are never billable.

Is per-resolution more expensive than a flat platform fee?+

For low volumes it is usually cheaper (you pay for almost nothing); at high volumes plan allowances and credit packs bring the effective rate down. The real comparison is cost per ticket actually removed from your queue - flat fees hide that number.
